Welcome to my website! Always under construction.
I'm a freelance French-English translator and aspiring writer! The works on this page are a little sparse at the moment, but expect more to come.
About Me
I am a graduate of Brandeis University's French and Comparative Literature programs. I am passionate about bringing foreign literature to English-speaking audiences and strive to create faithful, nuanced translations that capture the essence of the original work. I currently live in Wisconsin with my girlfriend and my ball python Spud, where I am pursuing a Ph.D in French at the University of Wisconsin Madison.
Services
I offer translation services for poetry, prose, and other types of literature, as well as other kinds of documentation. Additionally, I am open to editing and writing in English (copy or otherwise.) Please email me at ian@ianirvine.com with offers or for more information. Look around the pages for examples of my work!
Professional Appearances
My professional work has appeared as the translation of Enki Bilal's Bug in Heavy Metal numbers 1-4 and in Flight Capabilities and Host Selection of Female Browntail Moth (Euproctis chrysorrhoea).
